
Angie BolÃvar is a Colombian violist whose work reflects the creativity and versatility of 21st-century musicianship. Based in Miami, she is pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts at the Frost School of Music, serving as Teaching Assistant to Professor Jodi Levitz. Grounded in classical technique, Angie’s dynamic career spans contemporary music, chamber performance, and Colombian folk traditions. Named a 2022 Emerging Artist by the American Viola Society, she premiered a work by Colombian composer Mauricio Arias-Esguerra at their national festival. She has performed with the Albany Symphony (GA), Columbus Symphony (GA), and River City Chamber Players, and collaborated with Proyecto Serioso. Her chamber music experience includes masterclasses with the Shanghai Quartet and Cuarteto Latinoamericano. Angie holds degrees from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, where she earned her Master’s and Artist Diploma under Dr. Katrin Meidell. A passionate educator, she has taught at the Schwob Preparatory Division and Koart Academy. Beyond music, Angie enjoys yoga, traditional Colombian percussion, and singing popular music.
